Here are some examples of my work, whether it be with Red Sea Radio, of whom I'm a member, or other artists. Blurbs about the track (if any) are found under the tracks.
For "A Complex Split", I used elements of three tracks from the album; "Complex", "Your Birthday Kite" and "Town Crier." The three songs run together on the album, and are at the same tempo, so I thought it would be fun to incorporate elements of all three, while basically keeping the structure of "Complex." I used the live drums from "Town Crier" as the main drum loop in the remix. I also incorporated an electronic drum loop and synth bed from "Your Birthday Kite" into the choruses and bridge.
Above is one of two remixes I did for Transit Venus' "This Is". I find myself using "oohs" and "ahhs" from vocal tracks as intros to my remixes, however, I don't have a good explaination as to why.
"Love's for Thieves" is part of an EP I produced for Ryan Heycock, however, I'm not sure the mixes ever got finished. Ryan had always played this song solo, and never really indicated anything other than him and a guitar. However, I felt that the song benefited from introducing more instrumentation as it progressed. You'll notice that the organ drone, which is introduced early on with a single note, becomes a more complex chord as the song carries on. Also, I fought hard for the slide part to be on acoustic guitar... and that's how you hear it. ;) (Soundcloud defaults to my profile picture, since I don't have Ryan's artwork for this... though, people who know better, know that Ryan has 300% more sideburns than me.)
